title: How to configure Enterprise SSO and SCIM 2.0
description: Integrate exist.io with corporate identity providers using OIDC, SAML 2.0, and RFC 7644 SCIM user sync.
---

exist.io provides enterprise identity federation supporting **OpenID Connect (OIDC)**, **SAML 2.0**, and **RFC 7643 / RFC 7644 SCIM 2.0** automated directory synchronization.

## Step 1: OpenID Connect (OIDC) Integration

OIDC allows employees to log in using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, Google Workspace, Keycloak, or Auth0.

### Configuration via Admin Console

1. Navigate to **Enterprise Admin → Enterprise SSO & SCIM**.
2. Select **OpenID Connect (OIDC)**.
3. Configure your provider coordinates:
 - **Issuer URL**: `https://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant-id>/v2.0` (or `https://auth.company.com/realms/corp`)
 - **Client ID**: Registered application client ID.
 - **Client Secret**: Application client secret.
4. Toggle **Enable Single Sign-On** to active.
5. *(Optional)* Toggle **Enforce SSO For Domain** to mandate SSO for all corporate email addresses and block local password authentication.

### Provider Callback URL

Register this Redirect URI in your Identity Provider (Azure AD / Okta):

```text
https://git.corp.exist.io/api/v1/auth/sso/callback
```

---

## Step 2: SAML 2.0 Integration

For organizations requiring standard SAML 2.0 Web Browser SSO profiles:

1. Select **SAML 2.0** under SSO Configuration.
2. Provide your Identity Provider Metadata XML:
 - Paste the raw XML into the **IdP Metadata XML** field, or point to your IdP metadata federation endpoint.
3. exist.io exposes the following Service Provider (SP) parameters:
 - **SP Entity ID (Audience URI)**: `https://git.corp.exist.io/api/v1/auth/sso/saml/metadata`
 - **Assertion Consumer Service (ACS) URL**: `https://git.corp.exist.io/api/v1/auth/sso/saml/acs`
 - **NameID Format**: `urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress`

---

## Step 3: SCIM 2.0 Automated User Provisioning

exist.io implements a compliant **RFC 7644 SCIM 2.0 Service Provider** mounted at `/scim/v2`.

### SCIM Endpoints

| Endpoint | Method | Action |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| `/scim/v2/Users` | `GET` | Filter and list provisioned enterprise users |
| `/scim/v2/Users` | `POST` | Create a new user with automatic workspace access |
| `/scim/v2/Users/{id}` | `GET` | Retrieve user profile by immutable ID |
| `/scim/v2/Users/{id}` | `PUT` / `PATCH` | Update attributes or suspend account on offboarding |
| `/scim/v2/Users/{id}` | `DELETE` | Deprovision user and revoke all active sessions |

### Configure SCIM in Identity Provider (Okta / Entra ID)

1. In your IdP, enable **SCIM Provisioning**.
2. Set **SCIM Connector Base URL**:
 ```text
 https://git.corp.exist.io/scim/v2
 ```
3. Set **Authentication**: Bearer Token (generate an admin token under **User Management → Personal Access Tokens**).
4. Supported attribute mappings:
 - `userName` → exist.io login handle.
 - `emails[type eq "work"].value` → primary email.
 - `name.formatted` / `name.givenName` → user display name.
 - `active` → `true` (active) / `false` (suspended, revoking all Git HTTP/SSH tokens).

When an employee is deactivated in your corporate IdP, exist.io immediately terminates active web sessions, disables Personal Access Tokens, and denies all Git push/clone operations.
